a prayer for the new year
(from the Celtic Daily Prayer book)
I am no longer my own, but Yours
Use me as You choose;
rank me alongside whoever You choose;
put me to doing, put me to suffering;
let me be employed for You, or laid aside for You,
raised up for You, or brought down low for You;
let me be full, let me be empty;
let me have all things, let me have nothing;
with my whole heart I freely choose to yield
all things to Your ordering and approval.
So now, God of glory,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
You are mine, and I am Your own.

This is beautiful...and challenging.
I was just talking to someone about the Celtic book of prayer - thank you for sharing this piece of it.

Wow~ this author was not playing around. Imagine if just you or just me or just the two of us prayed this and meant it - I would expect we could actually affect the world. What if those of us who say we believe in the one true God, believed this prayer and prayed it - what a world this would be...
