Moments
Lord, Master, Teacher, Friend,
I have so much to do today!
Lunches to make,
Children to dress,
Carpooling to school,
Before any of it occurs,
In the stillness of this moment
Help me envision my day
And see You there
As Lord, Master Teacher, Friend
Lord, Master, Teacher, Friend
I have so much to do today!
Overdue books to return
Christmas cards to mail
Phone calls to return
Such mundane and earthy moments
Yet, You are Lord of the mundane
And Master of the earth
And You transform simple moments unto glory
Walk with me, Lord, Master, Teacher, Friend
Lord, Master, Teacher, Friend
I have so much to do today!
Exercise to fit in
Students to teach
Relationships to cultivate
And I am inadequate in all these moments
But You enter time-space as my Teacher
And I breathe in the sweet air of Your continual Friendship
You do not ask me to remove myself from this chaos
You only ask for the chance to do what You have always done
To create beauty and purpose from soupy messes
My Lord, Master, Teacher, Friend
Lord, Master, Teacher, Friend
I have so much to do today!
Watch for Your fingerprints
To do good to all I meet
Listen for your direction
You have fashioned the moments I have yet to encounter
You've gone before me as Lord and Master
Pulling me, wooing me into them
And You walk with me as Teacher and Friend
Whispering instruction and smiling with enthusiasm
Reminding me what an incredible adventure I am on.
A chance to love, to know, to serve, and work with
The Lord, Master, Teacher, Friend
Readings for the rest of the week: Romans 13:11-14 and Matthew 24:36-44

hey there... good food for thought. I've often wondered if God would be willing to drop the library books off with me etc... I wondered if He was comfortable with my many "to dos". I have always thought He'd prefer I stop - simplify - (and not feed my family?!). :) I guess He IS with me today in the midst of this and that. The question is am I with Him? Oh how I long to be more intimately with Him.
